Musician to hold album release concert Saturday
New Hartford’s Donna Gentile, an artist, graphic designer and singer/songwriter in the Americana, folk, world and native spirit genre, will headline an EP release party for her debut album.
The party will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Brewery Legitimus, 283 Main St., New Hartford. Gentile will be joined onstage by Tom White, who was a producer of the EP and who accompanies Gentile on the tracks.
After honing her craft with live performances in and around the northwest Connecticut region, Gentile recorded five treasured original songs for her EP, “Music is Medicine.” Each song is a
labor of love with a message of love, empowerment and healing.
“Music is Medicine” is not only the name of the EP but also the message that weaves throughout the lyrics and a mantra by which the singer lives.
The album’s first track is “This is Me,” an affirmation that sets the tone for the songs that follow. When the singer concludes this song with the emotional statement, “This is Me,” the listener knows the work is a truly personal journey though it enjoys universal themes and appeal.
“An American Song” and” I Do” are two tracks which tell universal stories, the honoring a solider’s duty in the former and an examination of enduring love in the latter.
Gentile is known for her personal style on stage and her connection with her audience is genuine and heartfelt. Learn more at www.donnagentile.com
