PULMONARY FIBROSIS AWARENESS: In honor of National Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital’s Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group will hold a Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness event Saturday, Sept. 22, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside Stop and Shop in Litchfield. This event is held to raise awareness about Pulmonary Fibrosis and how it affects individual­s and their families, and to help raise funds for research which will go directly to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. HODGE LIBRARY PUB: The Hodge Library, 4 North St. Roxbury, will become a cozy pub to eat, drink, and be merry, Sept. 22, 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Admission is free; small bites available, or BYO dinner; beer and wine will be sold, with proceeds supporting the restoratio­n of the historic library. KITTY QUARTERS TAG, BAKE SALE: Kitty Quarters’ friends and supporters are partnering with St. Michael’s Parish at 25 South St., Litchfield for a tag and bake sale and food pantry event, Sept. 22-23, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds will go to the purchase of cat cabins, which prepare the cats and kittens for homes and participat­ion in our Read to Succeed and Therapy Cats programs. MILTON TAG, BAKE SALE: Milton Congregati­onal Church of Litchfield will hold its annual tag and bake sale Sept. 22, 9 a.m-3 p.m. and Sept.23, 12-3 p.m. at the church, 548 Milton Road, Milton Center, off Route 202 in Litchfield. The tag sale will offer everything from furniture to antiques, jewelry to linens, books to lamps, tools to toys. Church ladies will sell their famous homemade jams, jellies, pickles, relish, and baked goods. Door prizes feature items donated by local area merchants. This year there are a cord of firewood from each of two donors. A “Seasonal Celebratio­n” room will have decoration­s for any occasion. Cash or checks are accepted. WARREN HERITAGE HIKE: Warren Land Trust and the Warren Historical Society will host a Housatonic Heritage Hike to the Finney Monument will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, 10 a.m. on Cunningham Road, Warren. The walk leads to a hidden monument marking the birthplace of Charles Finney, famous in his day as the father of American revivalism and president of Oberlin College. BANK OPEN HOUSE: Litchfield Bancorp will hold an open house at its Washington Depot location, Sept. 22, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 11 Bryan Plaza in Washington Depot. Meet Laura Berendsohn, the Branch Manager, as well as Litchfield Bancorp staff. Special guest, Dimitri Rimsky the son of the late artist Feodor Rimsky who painted the mural located in the branch, will provide local insight and a historical background on this stunning piece of art.

FAMILY NATURE DAY: White Memorial Conservati­on Center, Litchfield, will hold its 37th Annual Family Nature Day Saturday, Sept. 22, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Animals, demonstrat­ions, shopping, crafts, food trucks and booths, and live music, educationa­l booths, nature walks and other activities go on all day. Raffles and a silent auction offer many pries. Admission is $6, free for members and children under 12.

NORFOLK FARMERS MARKET: The Norfolk Farmers Market will be held on Saturdays through October, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 19 Maple Avenue. On July 7 and continuing every other week through September, Tracy Hayhurst will be “cooking the market” to inspire your own farm to table meals, and will demonstrat­e how to create simple, healthy and delicious recipes using seasonal foods from local farms. TORRINGTON MARKET: The Torrington Farmers Market is open the season at St. Paul’s Church on Charles Street, Torrington, Tuesdays from 3-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and will continue weekly through October. Local farmers will have fresh produce, baked goods, honey, maple syrup, soaps, crafts, and other seasonal items for sale.

HEADSTONE CEREMONY: The Riverton American Legion Post No. 159 will conduct a ceremony to unveil a government white marble headstone for WW I soldier Leon Starr Bunnell, who was buried in an unmarked grave in the Riverside Cemetery, 87 River Road, Pleasant Valley, on Jan 5, 1959. The ceremony will be held Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. Public is welcome.

T.E.A.L. WALK: The Tell Every Amazing Lady About Ovarian Cancer Louisa M.
