Hospital offers ‘Live Well’ health series

TORRINGTON — Charlotte Hungerford Hospital has teamed up with the Western Connecticu­t Area Agency on Aging to offer a free, interactiv­e six-week Live Well Workshop to help participan­ts take charge of their ongoing health conditions.

People with high blood pressure, heart disease, arthritis, and other chronic illnesses will learn better ways of dealing with pain, fatigue, difficult emotions, anxiety and stress. Topics will include easy exercises to help improve or maintain strength and energy, ways to improve nutrition, appropriat­e use of medication­s and more.

Live Well Workshops are also beneficial for caregivers, family members and friends of those with chronic conditions.

The workshops are sponsored by The Western CT Area Agency on Aging, CT Dept. of Public Health, and the State Unit on Aging through a grant from the Administra­tion on Aging. They are held throughout the year at various locations.

To learn more, attend an introducto­ry class on Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital’s Hungerford Center Conference Room, 780 Litchfield Street in Torrington.
