TORRINGTON MARKET: The Torrington Farmers Market is open for season at St. Paul’s Church on Charles Street, Torrington, Tuesdays from 3-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and will continue weekly through October. Local farmers will have fresh produce, baked goods, honey, maple syrup, soaps, crafts, and other seasonal items for sale.

HISTORY OF CLOCK MAKING: Jim Katzin will give a presentati­on on the rich history of clock making in Litchfield, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. at the East Litchfield Chapel, 62 East Litchfield Road South, Litchfield. He will have several examples of locally made clocks and movements from the early to mid 19th century. Katzin, an East Litchfield native, has been repairing and collecting American clocks for over 25 years. A life member of the National Associatio­n of Watch and Clock Collectors, he was president of the CT chapter of the organizati­on for 12 years. Admission $10, for the preservati­on and maintenanc­e of the East Litchfield Chapel.

HISTORY OF THE HOLLOW: History of the Hollow, about the chronologi­cal developmen­t of the Maple Hollow section of Bakerville, covering from 1774 – 1850, will be held Sept. 25, 7 p.m. at the Bakerville Library Annex, Maple Hollow Road, New Hartford, and co-sponsored by the New Hartford Historical Society, presented by David Krimmel, resident and former town historian.
