Democrats to honor local citizens

WINCHESTER — The Winchester Democratic Town Committee has selected its 2018 award recognitio­n recipients. This awards program honors those that have made significan­t contributi­ons to the community through their service and work.

Milly Hudak will receive the Anna Harding Community Service Award for her continued service to the community, through various positions now and throughout the years at the Winchester Historical Society, Auxiliary Health and as Winsted town historian.

Jim Divita will be the recipient of the Jose Cevallos Youth Service Award for his many years serving local youth as recreation commission member, chairman and coach.

Phillip Allen will receive the Joseph Barber Citizenshi­p Award for his many service projects and board affiliatio­ns.

Astrid Robitaille will receive the John Groppo Good Government Award for her work as a former registrar and other committees and projects.

The awards ceremony will take place Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, and an awards program beginning at 7:30 p.m. It will be held at the Indian Mountain Estates (formerly The Knights of Columbus) 122 Marshall St., Winsted.

The Winchester Democratic Town Committee wishes to promote the positive aspects of the community. One of these aspects is the tireless work by many of its citizens. These awards will recognize those that have made significan­t contributi­ons.
