BLOOD DRIVE: The Torrington Woman’s Club will sponsor a Red Cross blood drive, Sept. 27, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Peter Church Hall, 109 East Main Street, Torrington. Entry is on the right side of the church hall off the driveway. Club volunteers will assist the Red Cross by greeting and registering donors, and providing sandwiches and refreshments. MOVIE SCREENING: The LGBTQIA+ and History Clubs of Northwestern Connecticut Community College will host a screening of “The Lavender Scare” Sept. 27, 12 p.m. in the Art and Science Center (ASB, Room 205). APPLE HARVEST FESTIVAL: The Litchfield Historical Society will hold an Apple Harvest Festival, Sept. 28, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the in the Tapping Reeve Meadow, 82 South St., Litchfield. Events include live music, apple pie contest, demonstrations ,tours, woodworking, spinning and carding, cider pressing, crafts, scavenger hunt and lawn games. TORRINGTON MARKET: The Torrington Farmers Market is open the season at St. Paul’s Church on Charles Street, Torrington, Tuesdays from 3-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and will continue weekly through October. Local farmers will have fresh produce, baked goods, honey, maple syrup, soaps, crafts, and other seasonal items for sale.
NORFOLK FARMERS MARKET: The Norfolk Farmers Market will be held on Saturdays through October, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 19 Maple Avenue. On July 7 and continuing every other week through September, Tracy Hayhurst will be “cooking the market” to inspire farm to table meals.
