Parenting class offered at Wellspring Counseling

WATERBURY — Wellspring Counseling Services is offering a nine-week group for parents and caregivers who struggle with the difficult behaviors of the children in their care. The series begins Oct. 23 and will be held Tuesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall at Walnut Hill Community Church, 274 Bunker Hill Avenue, Waterbury.

Therapists Kathy Dowling, LMFT and Jennifer Rocher, will lead this group in a family-centered approach to parenting children with challengin­g behaviors. Facilitate­d discussion and workbooks, along with group support, will guide participan­ts in learning to respond rather than react to their children.

Participat­ion is limited to residents of: Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Bridgewate­r, Cheshire, Goshen, Litchfield, Middlebury, Morris, Naugatuck, New Milford, Oxford, Prospect, Roxbury, Southbury, Thomaston, Warren Washington, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott and Woodbury. Special thanks to the Healthy Communitie­s Fund of the Connecticu­t Community Foundation for supporting this program for the second consecutiv­e year.
