Holiday favorite returns to theater
‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ set for Dec. 8 to 16
TORRINGTON — The Warner Stage Company will present the holiday family favorite, “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre, with performances through two weekends in December.
Audiences can the cast for a holiday sing-along at the end of the production and stay for a “Meet-and-Greet and Color” with the cast in the Nancy Marine Studio Lobby following each performance.
Since it first appeared on television in 1965, “A Charlie Brown Christmas” has been a staple of the holiday season for many in America. It’s funny how a simple premise can resonate through the generations, but it is and will remain symbolic of how the quest for the best gifts or prettiest tree often distracts us from the important things during the festive period.
The Warner Stage Company production of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” is directed and choreographed by Meredith Porri with Music Director T.J. Thompson. Performances are Saturday, Dec. 8 and 15 and Sunday, Dec. 9 and 16 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
To purchase tickets, call the Warner Box Office at 860-4897180 or visit warnertheatre.org.
The Nancy Marine Studio Theatre series is sponsored by Northwest Community Bank.
“A Charlie Brown Christmas” is by Charles M. Schulz. The show is based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson, with stage adaptation by Eric Schaeffer and by special arrangement with Arthur Whitelaw and Ruby Persson. The play is produced by arrangement with Tamswitmark Music Library Inc.
