CANAAN — Northwest Corner Triad, a non-profit organization that serves seniors, invites residents to a free ‘Lunch and Learn’ on Nov. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Bittermann Center, 2 Daisy Hill Rd, Canaan.

The free program, “You’re Not Alone, Help is Out There.” is intended to personally connect guests with the people who offer programs, services and support for seniors.

The event begins with Jocelyn Ayer, Northwest Hills Council of Government’s Executive Director and Community & Economic Development Director, who will provide an overview of the region's many service agencies, resources and shared initiatives. Western CT Area Agency on Aging's Darylle Willenbrock will follow with a presentation of her agency’s array of services, followed by a free buffet lunch, sponsored by the St. Martin of Tours parishes.

At 12:30 pm, a panel of social service and municipal agents from Triad’s service area will discuss the network of support and resources in local towns.

Northwest Corner Triad, serving Norfolk, Canaan, Salisbury, Falls Village, Sharon, Cornwall and Lakeville, helps educate older adults by offering educational resources to protect against crime, fraud and scams while also providing information on healthy aging and personal safety. Through its partnerships with senior service organizations, local businesses and community agencies, Triad helps ensure that seniors are aware of and know how to access the many support services available to them.
