Champagne, shopping served up at Kent Stroll

- Kent Chamber of Commerce

KENT — Skip the mall and head to Kent for a weekend of shopping, dining and champagne sipping. Experience the quintessential New England town post-Thanksgiving at the sixth annual Kent Holiday Champagne Stroll on Nov. 23, and , Nov. 24, from 4 to 7:30 p.m.

Considered the benchmark for all holiday strolls, the town of Kent will play host to over 25 distinctive shops set to serve delicious champagnes and other bubblies, poured alongside special promotions, exclusive sales, and a few outstanding events. Event strollers will find everything from one-ofa-kind antiques, stylish clothing, delicious teas and coffees, amazing jewelry to trendy western boots.

The Kent Champagne Stroll also coincides with “Small Business Saturday” — a nationwide marketing campaign sponsored by American Express — which celebrates and recognizes small retail businesses as being the backbone of local economies.

Check-in begins at 4 p.m. and will be held at two separate locations this year: 1) The Swift House, 12 Maple St.; 2) Preferred Hardwood Floors, 19 Kent Green Blvd. on the Kent Green.

Tickets are $25/person on the day of the event. However, tickets may be purchased in advance by visiting www.kentstroll.com. Tickets purchased in advance are $22/person. Aside from a $3/person saving, pre-registration guarantees strollers a spot in case of a sell-out. What’s more, pre-registrants will be sped through the entire check-in process.

Once checked-in, strollers will receive a champagne flute and location map of participating retailers. The map divides the town into four zones. Strollers who visit at least three retailers in each zone and get their map stamped will be entered into a drawing for one of three great bottles of champagne. (Winners do not need to be present to win.) While the annual stroll ends at 7:30 p.m., the fun continues as strollers are invited to extend their evening by dining at one of Kent’s fine restaurants, where delicious menus await, as well as more champagne.

Everyone is welcome, but you must be 21-years-old and present valid ID at check-in to receive a flute and a map. Cash, credit card and check accepted for payment.
