District to present environmen­tal program

LITCHFIELD — “The Climate Reality,” A free presentati­on by Dawn Henry, of the Climate Reality Project, on how climate change happened, how it will affect everyone, and what each individual can do about it. The event, sponsored by the Northwest Conservati­on District, will be held Dec. 6, 6:30-8 p.m. in the Bantam Borough Hall, Route 202, Bantam.

The program includes discussion­s on the science of climate change; the impacts today around the world including: extreme weather (droughts, floods), fires, impacts on ecosystems, our food supply and human health; the latest on the shift to renewable energy; and a variety of suggestion­s on how to take action.

Henry is a resident of Westport and one of thousands of volunteers around the globe who have been personally trained by former US Vice President Al Gore to educate the public about climate change. She attended Climate Reality Leadership Training in Seattle last summer and has been giving slideshow presentati­ons on the climate crisis to various groups in Connecticu­t.
