Christmas songs through ages offered at concert

LITCHFIELD — The Women’s Forum of Litchfield welcomes all to a special concert of holiday music that will be held at St. Michael’s-Litchfield, 25 South Street, just off the Litchfield green on Thursday, Dec. 6, beginning at 2:30 p.m. The program features the duo of violinist Amy Jones and cellist Rebecca Patterson, offering Christmas songs from medieval times to current melodies.

Amy Jones has been playing with the Waterbury Symphony for 23 years. She is involved with the WSO’s educationa­l programs as well as a String Mentor with the programs at the Waterbury Arts Magnet School, Chase Collegiate School, and is a teaching artist in the WSO’s “Bravo Waterbury” Program. She has worked with the Musical Readers program for young children since its inception, and serves as a liaison between the WSO and program sites.

Rebecca Patterson received her B.M. from the Eastman School of Music and her M.M. from the Yale School of Music. She has been the recipient of many awards and merit-based scholarshi­ps. In recent years, she has focused on the Connecticu­t community as Principal Cellist of the New Haven Symphony, instructor of cello at UCONN, Storrs and teacher and chamber music coach throughout the state. She is currently the Principal Cellist with the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra.
