RISEDORF, ALLAN

WINSTED – Allan G. Risedorf, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 10, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Doreen (Bruno) Risedorf for 20 years. Born May 11, 1944 in Winsted; the son of the late Harry and Antoinette “Toni” (Girard) Risedorf. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War from 1966 - 1967. Allan worked for Northeast Utilities Systems for 32 years retiring in February 2000. He enjoyed sports, especially football and loved watching his kids and grandkids play. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Shane Risedorf and wife Diane of Barkhamsted; daughter, Heidi Ford of Barkhamsted; step-daughter, Cheri Closson and husband Matt of Winsted; grandchildren, Stefanie, Zach, Jacob, Nolan, Lauren and Jalen; step-grandchildren, Chad and Nick; brother, Bruce Risedorf and wife Denise of MA; half sister, Diane Bruner and husband Ron of Granby; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Janice McCannon, her husband George McCannon, III and the mother of his children, Sue Ann Ryan. Friends may call on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 1 – 4 p.m. with a service at 4 p.m. with full Military Honors.
