Wilson receives second-term appointments
LITCHFIELD — State Rep. David T. Wilson, RLitchfield, is joining his colleagues in the Connecticut General Assembly in preparing for the start of the 2019 legislative session which convened on Wednesday and serving his second term as a lawmaker.
“I am looking forward to continuing to work on behalf of the people of the 66th district and the state of Connecticut,” Wilson said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to a busy session and I’m ready to get moving. I encourage anyone who has questions or concerns regarding state government, as well as ideas for bill proposals, to contact me.”
Wilson has received his committee assignments for the 2019-20 legislative sessions. He has been appointed by House Republican Leader Themis Klarides as Ranking Member of the legislature’s Aging Committee, serving as the House Republican Caucus’ senior leader of the committee.
"I'm honored to have been selected by Leader Klarides to serve as Ranking Member of the Aging Committee for the upcoming term,” he said. “There will be many important issues that will come before the committee this session, and I look forward to working with my fellow legislative colleagues to develop policies and best practices to ensure the well-being of the seniors in our state.”
Wilson has also been appointed to serve on the Appropriations Committee, stating he is committed to fighting for common sense policies that will help Connecticut businesses grow and thrive while reining in state spending of taxpayer dollars and restoring fiscal health. He has also been reappointed to serve on the Environment Committee for the upcoming two year term.
The 2019 legislative session runs to June 5.
