No surprise departures as Huskies update roster

With the UConn football team set to kick off spring practice on Tuesday, the team’s roster has been released.

The good news is that no additional scholarship players have departed following the previously announced decisions by Tyler Davis, Michael Tarbutt, Marshé Terry, Kevin Murphy to explore options at other colleges as graduate transfers in addition to Darrian Beavers and Jordan McAfee transferring to Cincinnati and Assumption respectively.

Non-scholarship players Jarrett Chaney, Anthony Repollet, Tenzin Pharachesur and Harrison Newman are not on the spring roster.

Defensive back Oneil Robinson, who finished fourth on the 2018 UConn team with 64 tackles as a true freshman, has switched uniform numbers from 31 to 17. Speaking of uniform numbers, graduate transfer running back Art Thompkins will wear No. 1 while true freshmen defensive linemen Eric Watts and Jeff Woods have been assigned No. 95 and 99. Another freshman is on the roster is former Bloomfield High star Ventine Richardson, a linebacker who was on the American International College roster in 2018.
