Vegetarian society to hold potluck, program

Potluck With Dr. Joanne Kong As Featured Speaker Sunday, March 10 At 4:00 PM Northern Connecticu­t Vegetarian Society invites you and your neighbors to Vegan Potluck at Suffield Senior Center, 145 Bridge Street, Suffield, Sunday, March 10 at 4 p.m.

Dr. Joanne Kong has been praised as one of the most compelling advocates for plant-based nutrition. Dr. Kong talk is “If You’ve Ever Loved An Animal, Go Vegan!” She has given numerous presentati­ons around the globe including the Veggie Pride Parade in New York City, Oakland VegFest, Green Food Fest in Norway, the 2018 North American Veg Summerfest, a 2-week speaking tour of India this past Summer, and she has upcoming internatio­nal presentati­ons in Italy and Germany.

She will appear in two upcoming documentar­ies: “Eating Our Way to Extinction,” and “Taking Note,” about vegan musicians. Dr. Kong is author of “If You’ve Ever Loved an Animal, Go Vegan,” on sale after her talk. Her highly-praised TEDx talk on veganism, now with more than 450,000 views on YouTube, is included in Unbound Project, “a multimedia and book project that celebrates the inspiring women who have been at the forefront of animal advocacy around the globe.”

For the potluck, bring a healthy vegan dish with serving utensils, a list of its ingredient­s, its recipe, and a place setting. Vegan food has zero animal ingredient­s. A $9 donation is requested.
