KEEP AN EYE ON

⏩ REBOUND THAT BASKETBALL!: UConn and USF have split their two meetings this season, but the Bulls have won the rebounding battle in both contests — handily. On Jan. 2, USF outrebounded the Huskies 47-32 (including 15 on the offensive boards, several off free throw attempts) and rallied back from a 13-point deficit late in the first half for a 76-68 victory. On March 3 in Gampel, UConn notched a 60-58 win, but USF was again bullish on the boards, winning that rebounding battle 46-33. No less than 20 of USF’s rebounds were on the offensive end.

⏩ LEADING MEN: USF’s surprising season was geared largey by three players. David Collins led the team in scoring (in league games) at 16.2 per game. Laquincy Rideau, a Gardner-Webb transfer, led the AAC in both assists (5.4) and steals (2.9) per game and was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year. And freshman Alexis Yetna, a Putnam Science Academy product, led the AAC in rebounding and was tabbed the league’s Rookie of the Year.

⏩ HISTORY LESSON: UConn is 21-3 all-time against USF and had won 10 straight before the Jan. 2 loss in Tampa, which was the Huskies’ first true road game and first league game of the season. The winner of Thursday’s game will face regular season champion and top overall seed Houston on Friday at noon.
