Annual job fair set for March 28
Northwest Connecticut’s Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 15th Annual Job Fair on Thursday, March 28, in the auditorium at City Hall, located at 140 Main St. The fair is free and open to the public. The hours for the job fair are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The goal of the job fair is to help job seekers and employers connect. It provides an outlet for potential workers to meet employers, employers to gather resumes, and employers to network with each other. Attendees are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resume.
This year’s fair will feature more than 40 employers representing a wide range of industries. Companies representing opportunities in manufacturing, finance, transportation, healthcare, insurance, education and more will be exhibiting.
The chamber presents the 2019 job fair in partnership with the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board, The City of Torrington, FM 97.3 WZBG, Connecticut Department of Labor, the Register Citizen, and the Republican American.

Travel to the Scandinavian Capitals: Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm
The Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce will host an informational session open to the public on Thursday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m., for the Scandinavian Capitals trip at the Chamber Office, 333 Kennedy Drive, Torrington. A representative from the travel company, Aventura World, will be on hand to answer questions and give more information.
This is the 6th year the chamber has partnered with Aventura World, a leading travel company with exceptional service and affordable travel packages, to offer these trips to the public. The chamber hosts 2 trips a year and they are open to anyone who would like to experience these incredible destinations. Past destinations include: China, Japan, Ireland, Cuba, South Africa, Spain and more.
Consider the exploration of Scandinavia’s smart, modern cities and untamed natural beauty in the north from Sept. 9-16. The journey begins in Copenhagen, a city that offers a perfect mix of playful spirit to stunning architectural design, from the royal castles to the pretty canals, and uniquely shaped brick buildings.
