-

FALLS VILLAGE — The David M. Hunt Library in Falls Village will host Glastonbury author Cynthia Parzych, who will discuss her book, “Connecticut Made,” about the breadth and vitality of artisan craftsmen and small businesses in the Nutmeg State. The event will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 7.

Autographed copies of the book will be available for purchase at a discount following the talk. This program is free and intended for ages 8 and older. Families and nature lovers alike are welcome. For reserved seating, call 8608247424 or visit huntlibrary.org. 63 Main Street, Falls Village, CT 06031.

The author said about her book, “The research and writing of Connecticut Made sent me on a journey of discovery to meet many creative entrepreneurs, giving me an understanding of the vital role small maker businesses have played throughout the history of our state, as well as in today’s business climate. Hopefully my talk will inspire people to take their own road trips to visit local businesses and support them by buying Connecticut made products. By doing so, we can all contribute to the pervasive sense of community in the Nutmeg State. Along the way, those who do take a road trip just might discover a little local history, make some new friends, find a way to use some of their skills, or learn a new one!”

Born and educated in Connecticut, Cynthia is a writer, book publisher, editor, and professional chef. She lives in Glastonbury in the Old Parsonage, built in 1693, where she runs her publishing company and a food business using the produce grown on her property and sourced locally to make sauces, soups, pesto, pickles, vinegars, jams, and marmalades all sold under the Old Parsonage label.
