Library to host ‘Taste of Torrington’

TORRINGTON — The first Taste of Torrington is set for Oct. 9, 58 p.m. at the Torrington Library. The event is a fundraiser for the library.

The tasting will feature Torrington-based restaurants and food providers, “showcasing all that our city has to offer,” event organizers said, with food as well as wine and beer from Northwest Connecticut wineries and breweries. With more than a dozen establishments participating, and more registering each day, organizers say they expect “a large turnout of hungry residents ready to sample creative appetizers, main dishes, or desserts from Torrington restaurants.”

Participating restaurants include Brinx Kitchen and Bar, Ciesco Catering, The Donut Station, Hanq’s, Hummingbird Café, Sawyers Bar and Grill, Sliders Grill and Bar, Sol, Sasso’s Coal Fired Pizza, Yia Yia’s Greek Kitchen, Four Corners, The Venetian Restaurant, Toothpick, and Carvel.

Tickets are $50 per person and include the food tasting and complimentary beer and wine. A silent auction will feature various items such as gift baskets, jewelry, gift cards, and more.
