Writing workshop offered at library
SALISBURY — Critical Writing Workshop with Virginia Watkins, Long Form Fiction or Memoir Writing class, is being offered at the Scoville Memorial Library in Salisbury, at 10 a.m., Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 23.
The critical workshop is designed for those who have been working on a piece of longform fiction or memoir.
Over the course of four Saturday meetings, a small group of writers will read each other’s work and discuss the ways it succeeds and the ways in which it could be stronger. Feedback is constructive in nature, designed to help writers accomplish the goals they set for themselves. Writers will leave this workshop with a better understanding of the ways in which an audience responds to your work and what you might do to make it even stronger.
Virginia Watkins, a writer and private writing consultant, has offered both generative and critical workshops at Scoville Library and other locations in the Berkshires. Visit www.writetogether413.com and follow her on Instagram @writetogether413 to contact her.
The class is open to individuals who have not previously taken this 4part series at the Scoville Memorial Library and have the ability to take all four sessions.
Signup is on a first come, first served basis, by emailing directly to the Program Coordinator, at scovilleadultprograms@gmail.com, on or after Oct. 23 at 10:30 am. Those who have already taken the series may sign up for the waiting list.
