OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

⏩ Kurt Rawlings, Yale: Threw for 338 yards and a program record six touchdown passes in a 5114 win over Princeton, a team that came into the game ranked third among Football Championsh­ip Subdivisio­n teams in scoring defense. Rawlings has 11 touchdowns over the last two games and now owns Yale marks for TD passes in a game, season and career in addition to his career records for passing yards and total offense. The victory, combined with Cornell’s upset of Dartmouth puts Yale in a tie for first place in the Ivy League heading into Saturday’s home game against Harvard.

DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

⏩ Chris Agyemang, Sacred Heart and Jahlil Brown, Central Connecticu­t: Agyemang had three tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble and six tackles as the Pioneers held Lehigh to a pair of field goals in 136 win. Brown returned a fumble 25 yards for a touchdown and also had an intercepti­on and seven tackles in Blue Devils’ 4928 win over Robert Morris.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

⏩ Michael Staleny, New Haven: Had field goals of 22 and 27 yards and was 3 for 3 on extra points in 2717 win over Stonehill as the Chargers finished tied for first in the Northeast1­0 with a 62 conference record.

HOMETOWN FOCUS

⏩ Christian Montano, Tulane: The Orange native and former Hamden Hall star has started every game at center helping the Green Wave run for at least 200 yards seven times in 11 games including 203 in a loss to Temple on Saturday as Tulane ranks 11th among FBS teams with an average of 255.4 rushing yards per game. The Brown University graduate was also named as one of 20 semifinali­sts for the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award. He is one of two Connecticu­t natives on the list joining Manchester’s Koby Quansah, a linebacker at Duke.

BY THE NUMBERS

1: Reed Klubnik’s place on Yale’s career receiving list as his 107 yards in a win at Princeton gives him 2,486 yards. Teammate JP Shohfi also moved by previous record holder Ralph Plumb and has 2,398 career receiving yards. They have a chance to become the first set of Ivy League classmates to each have 2,500 career receiving yards over a fouryear span. Klubnik’s three touchdown receptions give him 21, two shy of Eric Johnson’s program record.

2: Sacks by Western Connecticu­t’s Jordan Fletcher in win over Plymouth State as he finished season with 10 sacks.

3: Consecutiv­e games with no intercepti­ons by WestConn’s David James who didn’t throw an intercepti­on in his final 104 throws of 2019.

5: Intercepti­ons by New Haven’s Shawn Tafe this season after coming down with one of the Chargers’ three picks against Stonehill. 14: Tackles by Mekhi Barnett in Southern Connecticu­t’s 3420 loss to Pace.

26: Takeaways by Central Connecticu­t defense/special teams this season as the Blue Devils added three intercepti­ons and a fumble recovery to the total as CCSU improved to 101.

75: Program record number of victories for Coast Guard coach Bill George, who retired after Saturday’s game against Merchant Marine.

110: Tackles by Coast Guard’s Eugene Bizer as a junior. He had at least 10 tackles in seven of the 10 games including 16 in Saturday’s season finale.

130: Rushing yards for Sacred Heart’s Julius Chestnut including scoring runs of 9 and 40 yards. He heads into next week’s season finale with 1,354 yards, the third highest total in program history.

389: Rushing yards for Central Connecticu­t in win over Robert Morris

1000: Rushing total for New Haven’s Shamar Logan this season after running for 122 yards and two touchdowns in win over Stonehill.
