Gallery asks community to ‘Show Us Your Heart’

TORRINGTON — Five Points Gallery is asking residents and businesses to display red hearts and words of encouragement in their windows or on their lawns or porches as a sign of support for medical care workers, emergency service workers and others who have remained on the job throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

“Show Us Your Heart” started in mid-April, and since then, hearts have popped up all around town. Many communities in Connecticut are doing a similar show of support.

In a letter on the gallery’s website, fivepointsgallery.org, executive director Judith McElhone encouraged people to join the red heart movement.

“Please consider joining Five Points in thanking our health care workers, first responders and essential workers,” she said. “Tag us with #ShowUsYourHeart #FivePointsGalleryCT or email us at info@fivepointsgallery.org.”
