Cumberland Farms holding DAV fundraiser

TORRINGTON — Through July 31, customers across Litchfield County will have an opportunity to make a donation to DAV when they check out at the register at a neighborhood Cumberland Farms, such as those at 207 South Main St. and 1439 New Litchfield St.,Torrington. With a goal to raise more than $250,000 for DAV, an organization that changes the lives of more than one million veterans of all eras every year, all proceeds from the month-long fundraiser will help DAV ensure that injured and ill veterans can access the full range of benefits available to them. During the campaign, all EG stores will also offer a free cup of coffee to service members and veterans as a “thank you” for their sacrifices.

Of the partnership, EG America President, George Fournier, said, “We know many of our team members and guests are veterans and believe it is important to recognize and give back to those who have served our country. Partnering with DAV gives our store teams a collective purpose and allows them to connect with the communities where they live and work in a meaningful way.”

Sunday In The Park Concours

LAKEVILLE — Lime Rock Park’s Sunday in the Park Concours, set for Sept. 6, is being redesigned around a refined set of classes that maintains a focus on interesting classic, sports and racing cars, but, in keeping with the spirit of the current times, adds some additional classes, including one for classic camping trailers – the ideal solution for social distancing.
