Connecticut exec tapped to lead AT&T’s New England efforts
John Emra, president of AT&T Connecticut, has gotten his second promotion in three months.
Emra, who lives in Fairfield, has been named president of the telecommunications company’s New England region. He will lead the company’s strategy, policy and corporate affairs activities, as well as guide governmental and community policy decisions.
Emra’s latest promotion comes after he was named leader of AT&T’s external and legislative affairs for New England at the end of April. He will retain his role of president of AT&T Connecticut and will remain based in New Haven.
Emra will report to recentlyappointed Northern Region President Patricia Jacobs, who will remain based in Boston and will retain her post as AT&T’s top executive in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Emra said AT&T’s New Enin gland team “continues to find creative and innovative ways to best serve our customers and the communities we share.”
“I look forward to expanding upon the important work that we have been doing across the region, and building upon our important partnerships with government, business and civic leaders,” he said. “AT&T is a company founded connecting people – through our network, our technology and our commitment to community.”
Emra began his career at AT&T in September 2001. He worked as its regional vice president for external and legislative affairs in Connecticut until being named president in 2013.
