PURPLE HEART CEREMONY: Torrington will hold a National Purple Heart Day Observance at 9:15 a.m. Friday on the steps of City Hall, 140 Main St. The program will include the raising of the Purple Heart Flag, Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation by Fr. Emmanuel and the reading of the Purple Heart Veterans names. Everyone attending should adhere to all CDC guidelines and state Executive Orders, including but not limited to social distancing and wearing a face mask. TODDLER JAM: Toddler Jam with Johnny G, Scoveille Memorial Library, Salisbury, 11 a.m., on Thursdays, continues to early September, on Facebook Live. No RSVP needed.
