Hospital revises visiting policies
TORRINGTON — Charlotte Hungerford Hospital this week updated its visitor policy and is not allowing visitors in its Emergency Department as an additional safety precaution until further notice. Patients may still use the ER entrance for care.
Visitors are still allowed for inpatient areas and are required to enter through the main front hospital entrance at 540 Litchfield St.
The ER is open to patients only.
The main front entrance is open to all visitors to areas other than the ER, patients and vendors. All individuals will be health screened and have their temperature taken.
The outpatient/blood draw entrance and the Turner Coe Annex Entrance is closed to patients/ visitors.
This policy change applies to the emergency department only. The CHH campus Medical Office Building at 538 Litchfield St., and all other CHH offisite facilities and provider practices including the Center For Cancer Care are not affected at this time.
All incoming patients and visitors coming through the main entrance will be asked to wear a face mask, and receive a health screening and temperature check.
Inpatient visiting hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, weekends 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. No visitors are allowed under the age of 16. One visitor is allowed per patient at a time for a one-hour visit.
Visitors are asked not to visit the hospital if they are ill or have symptoms of cold or flu. People not visiting patients are asked not come to the hospital. Only one visitor per patient is allowed at a time.
