PICK UP A COAT: FISH/Friends in Service to Humanity of NWCT and Joseph’s House are sponsoring the annual coat giveaway, part of the sixth annual Rally to End Hunger and Homelessne­ss in Torrington. ARTISAN MARKETPLAC­E: Decked out in festive style, the Van Vleck House is the setting for Flanders Nature Center’s annual Artisan Marketplac­e, opening at 10 a.m. Nov. 14 and open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m-4 p.m. until Dec. 23. The Van Vleck house is located at the corner of Flanders and Church Hill Roads in Woodbury.

GIFT SHOP OPEN: The Auxiliary Gift Shop, 120 Willow St., Winsted, is open for the holidays, Nov. 16 through Dec. 19, open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 9:30 a.m.-noon on Saturdays. All money is donated to the communitie­s in our area.

FRIENDS BOOK SALE: The Scoville Memorial Library’s Friends of The Library Book Sale and donation collection will be held Nov. 21, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Space limited, masks required. Concierge service available; knock on glass doors, tell us what interests you and we will bring out a few books to the parking lot for you to choose from. Book donations can also be made on these days, limited to 8 boxes.
