Four new COVID-19 cases reported at UConn
STORRS — Four new cases of COVID-19 were reported Wednesday at the University of Connecticut, all among students.
Three of the newly reported infections involved students living on campus at Storrs, according to UConn spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz. The fourth case involved a student living off campus at Storrs.
As of Wednesday, 31 residential students and eight off-campus students have been infected with the virus this semester, according to UConn’s data. One student living at the Stamford campus has also tested positive so far this semester.
Other colleges and universities have also reported cases as students return for the spring semester.
Weleyan University in Middletown reported two active cases, with no new cases reported Monday, the most recent day testing data is available for. Four students and five employees have tested positive so far this semester.
The University of New Haven in West Haven reported 19 active cases among students and three among faculty and staff. Eleven new cases emerged in the last seven days.
Central Connecticut
State University in New Britain reported one new residential student case and one new commuter student case on Tuesday. Four people at the school were in isolation as of Tuesday, according to CCSU’s data.
Connecticut College in New London reported one case among students so far this week. The school’s dashboard shows one active case among students and five among employees.
Yale University in New Haven reported 11 new cases Monday and 29 new cases in the previous seven days.
Trinity College in Hartford reported three active cases, all among employees, as of Monday.
