LITCHFIELD — Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center, at 229 East Litchfield Road, is offering the following programs.
Our Biblical Ancestors and You with Dr. Mark D’Alessio, on Zoom April 6, 13, and 20, 7-8:30 p.m. This online series will offer prayerful insight to open one’s heart to how personal encounters with people from different cultures, religions, genders, and economic and social classes teach attendees about their own spiritual values, faith, and relationship with the mystery of God. The price for the series is $60.
Wisdom’s Table Cook Class: The Amazing Potato with Chef Margaret Jacobs, April 24, 2-3:30 p.m. Recipes and samples will be given of: Roasted Herb Potatoes - Red Bliss; Potatoes in Cream - Scalloped/ White; Parmesan Turmeric Smashed Potatoes - Yukon Gold; Baked Potato Slices Russet; Greek Style Lemon Feta - Fingerlings; Oven Style Baked Chip - Yellow; Salt and Vinegar Roasted Potatoes - Baby Multi Colored; Asiago Potato Wedges - White. The cost is $30.
Modern Victory Garden Class with presenter Stephen Kassel, Chanticleer Acres, April 24, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This course will teach attendees how to grow nutritious food and improve their soil, and design a Victory garden that fits resources and constraints. The price, which includes lunch, is $40 per person.
Soundscapes Relaxation: Forging New Connections with Grace Magnusson and Kristen Famiglietti, April 24, noon to 2:30 p.m. (lunch is noon to 1
p.m.; relaxation is 1-2:30 p.m.) Attendees are invited to bring their yoga mat or other relaxation props. With a guided breath practice, meditation and sound healing, the focus of this
