TORRINGTON — Four local restaurants will team up with St. John Paul the Great Academy in April, continuing a mutually beneficial program called “Takeout Tuesdays.”

On three Tuesdays in April (and one Wednesday), a different local restaurant will donate a portion of the proceeds from its takeout orders made between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to the academy, a Catholic elementary school at 160 Main St. that enrolls more than 140 students from pre-k through grade 8.

Participating restaurants in April include:

April 13: Anthony’s, 258 Main St., Torrington, 860489-6656, anthonystorrington.com;

April 20: Da Capo Ristorante Italiano, 625 Torrington Road, Litchfield, 860482-6246, dacapolitchfield.com; and

April 28 (Wednesday): Edison Grill, 178 Birge Park Road, Harwinton, 860-4851401, edisongrill.com.

“We began this partnership in November and plan to feature a restaurant a week throughout the school year and beyond,” said Gina Scherbner, a board member and organizer of the effort.

“In this time more than any other, our restaurants need our support,” Scherbner said. “Our students, families, volunteers and the community can help support the effort by enjoying a great meal and sharing their experience with their friends and families.”

Takeout Tuesdays are sponsored in April by Blondin Shea Eye Care and The Law Offices of Robert F. Dwyer Jr. LLC.
