Race for the gold

With the Olympics on our minds, the race for the gold is inspiring, despite the triumphs and disappointments. There are lessons to be learned — the pursuit of one’s dream, grace in the face of defeat, positive competitiveness, support of one’s team, pride in representing the U.S.A. and gratitude to those who helped to make it happen. It is history in the making, with examples of determination and sacrifice.

At the chamber, we sometimes feel like we are competing in a marathon to fulfill our mission of promoting economic growth while enhancing the quality of life. We continue to initiate programs that assist you, the business community, in achieving positive results and increasing your opportunities for growth and development during the most challenging period of our lives.

Recently we announced another exciting event in collaboration with Northwestern Connecticut Community College. It is the Legislative Reception Sept. 9 at 7:30 a.m. featuring our area state senators and state representatives. Join our elected delegation, leaders of NCCC, our lobbyist and fellow businesses for a spirited discussion about local, regional and statewide issues.
