Many students in need of help
Help the helpers. One in four students have learning disabilities. Teachers in a regular education classroom aren’t trained to help them. They need special education training which barely has any overlap with a regular education certification. Hartford and colleges haven’t thought this through.
Prisoners, low earners and victims of substance abuse all share a key ingredient. They have learning disabilities which leads to lives riddled with despair. A simple basic fix should be a quality education for all, which would lead to an easier path with more opportunities. The school system fails a quarter of its population without providing classroom teachers with the necessary skills to help their students.
Are the government and politicians doing all they were elected to do? It’s wasteful to spend resources in a misdirected manner with so many missed opportunities for basic fixes. The system is passing failing students through, just to get them out of the system. It’s an old story. There aren’t enough school psychologists and special education resource teachers to handle this load and regular education teachers who need more skills have to witness their students fall in the cracks. Address the demand and need for special education helpers.
Why aren’t more companies besides Target and Starbucks helping with the costs so the next generation can get a leg up with college costs and help the children coming after them? Corporate profits and government mismanagement shouldn’t conflict with children’s futures. Colleges, corporations and government, please get on the page and help the helpers!
