GARDEN DEDICATION: The Bethlehem Land Trust will dedicate its rain garden on the Bellamy-Ferriday Preserve at 10 a.m. Saturday to past president the late Mary Hawvermale, an avid environmen­talist and led the Bethlehem Land Trust from 2007 to 2016. The public is welcome to attend the dedication ceremony.

COMMUNITY KITCHEN FUNDRAISER: Band Brews & BBQ, fundraiser for the Community Kitchen of Torrington, 3 p.m., Sept. 5 at Sunset Grille, 834 Northfield Road, Watertown, with the 3G Band, a top 40 party band. LIBRARY CARDS: Library Card Day, Cornwall Library, 11 a.m. Aug. 21. To kick off the school year, parents and their children are invited to stop by the library, where children 7 and up can sign up for a library card.
