TheatreWorks New Milford holding auditions
NEW MILFORD — TheatreWorks New Milford is looking to fill two male roles to complete the cast of “The Effect” by Lucy Prebble.
According to TheatreWorks, “The Effect” is a clinical romance. Two young volunteers, Tristan and Connie, agree to take part in a clinical drug trial for a new anti-depressant. The trial is run by Dr. Toby Sealey and Dr. Lorna James. Connie and Tristan have palpable chemistry, but it might be a side effect of a new antidepressant.
Dr. Toby Sealy and Dr. Lorna James have a checkered history but they both need this drug trial to be successful for their own reasons. The results of the trial bring a new future for all four of these participants.
Trista a young man with a great deal of skepticism and a tendency towards flirtation. He is a classclown, over-confident and essentially trivial. He ends the play as a very different person. Age Range: 20-40
Dr. Toby Sealy Is an expert in psychopharmacology and leads the drug trial. He has taken advantage of this position to womanize in the past. In appointing Dr. Lorna James to run this trial – he has re-opened the past in an unexpected way. Age Range: 40-60
