Hot Acoustics band performing Thursday at Bellamy-Ferriday barns
BETHLEHEM — The Bethlehem Land Trust will launch its spring-summer series of free concerts Thursday at 5:30 p.m., at the 81-acre Bellamy-Ferriday Preserve in Bethlehem. Performing at the lead-off event will be singer/songwriters “Hot Acoustics”.
The Southbury-based local violin-guitar duo Hot Acoustics' diverse set list will feature iconic songs by artists including: Marvin Gaye, Janis Joplin, Ray Charles, David Bowie, John Lennon, Grateful Dead, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and Hot Acoustics originals.
Alyce Cognetta Bertz, concertmaster and electric violinist, and Gary Bertz, singer-guitarist, specialize in rock, soul, and blues music covers and originals. With decades-long performances spanning Amsterdam to Aspen, West Berlin to Burning Man and Copenhagen to Key West, Hot Acoustics has appeared on shows with Bonnie Raitt, Leon Russell, The Ramones, Ritchie Havens, Arlo Guthrie, and more. Hot Acoustics' most recent U.S. national park tour continues to inspire audiences, according to a statement.
The program is free. The Bellamy-Ferriday barns are located at 45 Main Street North, Bethlehem. Follow the “BLT EVENT” signs; BYO chairs and a picnic.
Next on the season's program is singer/songwriters George Mallas and David Ray on June 9.

The not-for-profit Bethlehem Land Trust holds 24 properties totaling more than 420 acres in permanent preservation, 17 owned outright and seven in conservation easement. On four of the properties, including the Bellamy-Ferriday Preserve, the Land Trust maintains walking trails for public use.
