Live shows offer country, rock and comedy
Trace Adkins to perform in October
TORRINGTON — Country singer Trace Adkins and the band Almost Queen are the latest additions to the Warner Theatre’s schedule of entertainment, with both concerts set for October.
The concerts join a lineup of shows that include Steve EArle and the Dukes June 16, the Ivy League of Comedy July 9, and “The Music is You, The Music of John Denver,” A Special Benefit Concert for McCall Center for Behavioral Health and Central Naugatuck Valley Help, Inc., on Sept. 16. Almost Queen will perform on the main stage at 8 p.m. Oct. 1. “Known as the most authentic Queen live show since the days of Queen themselves, Almost Queen delivers a live performance showcasing signature four-part harmonies and intricate musical interludes,” according to the Warner. Donning genuine costumes, the band recaptures the live energy and precision that is the ultimate Queen experience.
Trace Adkins performs at 8 p.m. Oct. 9. According to the Warner, he has sold more than 11 million albums, charted more than 20 singles, earned numerous awards and GRAMMY nominations, and garnered over two billion streams. A Grand Ole Opry member for nearly two decades, the Louisiana native is known for dynamic baritone and fiery, always-memorable live performances, and has expanded his career to include film and TV acting. Adkins’ newest
single is “Where The Country Girls At,” featuring Luke Bryan and Pitbull.
July 9, the theater presents The Ivy League of Comedy at 8 p.m. in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre, featuring comedians Myq Kaplan, Carmen Lynch, and Shaun Eli.
“Known for their elite brand of clever comedy, The Ivy League of Comedy honors audiences with original, well-written comedy that doesn’t resort to playing on stereotypes or picking on the audience,” according to the Warner.
On Sept. 16, The Music is You, The Music of John Denver: A Special Benefit Concert for McCall Center for Behavioral Health and Central Naugatuck Valley Help, Inc., will be presented in the Marine Studio Theatre. The show will include national recording artist Lucinda Rowe. The event begins at 7 pm with a VIP reception in the Studio Lobby followed by the concert at 8 pm. The band features Rowe, Mick Connolly, Gary Fiandra, Chris Morrison and Marc Russell. VIP and regular admission tickets are available.
