LARC’s Autism Resource Center to hold summer programs
TORRINGTON — The Arc of Litchfield County's Autism Resource Center is holding summer programs for children.
Circus Stars: 1-2 p.m., July 6. Circus Stars offers inclusive, creative, and challenging activities for children with autism in a fun, supportive and gentle environment. This specially-designed circus training program is taught by teacher Cynthia Rauschert, M.S., owner/ creative director at Circus Moves.
Creative Art with Darci: 1-2 p.m., July 12. In this creative art experience with Darci Stenson, a local artist, participants will create expressive art using their imaginations.
All materials are provided. Each participant will take home their artwork.
Both classes are open to ages 11-18. Space is limited. Participants must be accompanied by an adult and take place at the Autism Resource Center, the Arc of Litchfield County, Inc. (LARC), 314 Main St. Torrington.

LARC is a nonprofit agency in Northwest Connecticut founded in 1964 by families to support loved ones with intellectual and developmental disabilities, according to its website. Guided by a vision of Community for All, LARC promotes individual empowerment, choice, respect, and dignity. LARC serves approximately 200 individuals with disabilities throughout Northwest Connecticut. Services include residential group homes, in-home supports, transportation, day and employment programs. LARC's Autism Resource Center provides resources, guidance, programming, and information to help families enable their children and young adults with autism to live full lives in the community. The agency's Social Enrichment program provides critical respite and recreational opportunities for 120 such as group outings, social gatherings, and Special Olympics.
