Enjoy these Super Bowl snacks

Now that the Super Bowl LVII faceoff between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelph­ia Eagles is set, it’s time to start planning the menu. These CT restaurant­s offer special packages for the Super Bowl with wings, nachos, sliders and more.

J. Timothy’s in Plainville opened its Super Bowl ordering Jan. 31. The restaurant offers buckets of its wings (35 to 40 pieces) as the only size available to go for the weekend. A “cold wing pack,” with sauce on the side, will be sold on Friday and Saturday and is suggested for easy reheating at home. Other to-go options include a giant pretzel with cheddar and ale soup and honey mustard, a nacho kit and Buffalo hummus. Preorders will be taken by phone only at 860-747-6813, and early calls are suggested as the restaurant books up quickly.

Sliders, with locations in Berlin, Middletown, Plainville, Southingto­n and Wallingfor­d, offers wing packages in 25- and 50-count portions. Wings are available with nearly 30 sauce flavors and 10 dry rubs. Pre-orders are strongly recommende­d. Sliders cannot take more orders when reservatio­n books are full.

Walrus Alley in Westport offers Super Bowl specials, including smoked wings in flavors like chipotle honey, Alabama white sauce, walrus barbecue, dry jerk rub and Tennessee hot sauce. Other options include chili mac, sausage and peppers, sliders (pulled pork or fried chicken), chili-cheese nachos and smoked buffalo dip. Dew Drop Inn in Derby is taking orders for its wings, with more than 100 sauces and dry rubs (and counting). Call 203- 735-7757.

Eli Cannon’s in Middletown offers several Super Bowl food packages, with options including wings, nachos, buffalo chicken dip, mac and cheese and sticky ribs. Packages range from $65 to $200, with add-ons including burger and pulled pork sliders. 860347-3547.

Blind Rhino in Norwalk and Black Rock offers a Super Bowl menu with wings in quantities of 50, 75 or 100 (bone-in and boneless) with choices of sauces and dry rubs, including spicy Buffalo, plum sriracha and togarashi brown sugar. Pickups are also available at Tribus Beer Co. in Milford and Third Place by Half Full Brewery in Stamford. Two days’ notice is required.

Nikki’s in Stratford offers wing specials in portions of 30 or 65 with choice of sauce and a Super Bowl spread for dine-in customers including wings, pretzels, nachos, chili, sausage and peppers, roast beef, porketta and pizza. Reservatio­ns are required. Cost is $59.99. 203- 612-7134.

Bear’s Smokehouse, with locations in Hartford, New Haven, South Windsor and Windsor, offers an $85 “Big Game Feast” with 12 wings, a rack of ribs, a pound of pulled pork or chicken, a dozen slider rolls and choice of three sides. Other appetizer options include moink balls (bacon wrapped meatballs), wings and buffalo and spinach artichoke dips. Bear’s also sells meat by the pound and sides in pint portions.

Que Whiskey Kitchen in Southingto­n offers two “Hot Meat” party platters. A $70 platter features pulled pork, pulled chicken, kielbasa and a half rack of ribs, and an $80 platter features baby back ribs with honey peach glaze. Each platter comes with three side dishes, cornbread and barbecue sauces and serves four to five people. Orders must be placed 24 hours in advance. 860-783-6056.

Rosa Mexicano in West Hartford offers Super Bowl to-go kits including guacamole and chips, tacos and nachos. 860-270-0740.

Wood-n-Tap, with nine locations across Connecticu­t, offers a variety of to-go party platters including chicken wings, chicken tenders, beef or bison burger bites, blackened chicken “bar chicks,” soft pretzels, chicken quesadilla­s, mac and cheese and salads. Guests receive free gift cards with platter orders.
