Montgomery County Commissioners are taking their show on the road throughout May.

Commissioners Josh Shapiro, Val Arkoosh and Joe Gale will be hosting six events across the county to update residents about county-wide and local projects. For the fourth year running, the officials plan to use the Conversation with Commissioners series to answer questions from the community.

“Not everyone can attend a Thursday morning board meeting at 10 a.m. so it’s an opportunity for commissioners to get out across the county and meet

residents where they are in the community,” said Jessica Willingham, public relations coordinator for the county.

Willingham said that the events usually run between one and two hours. The commissioners each take a chance to update the community on county initiatives before opening up the floor for question.

“These sessions are another way we use to keep residents informed about what we are doing in county government,” Arkoosh said in a press release about the series. “We live stream our board meetings online and use social media a great deal to inform everyone about what is going on in the county, but the ‘Conversations’ provide a true, personal level of contact with our constituents.”

The events — planned for Pottstown, Norristown, Pennsburg, Glenside, Lansdale, and Bryn Mawr — will be tailored to the community in which each one is taking place. Willingham said commissioners and county staff will be prepared to discuss local projects as well as ones that impact the county as a whole.

“What matters to people in one community — for example there’s a bridge in Pennsburg, but people in Abington are not going to focus on that,” she said “They will be prepared to talk about that community-to-community.”

For Gale, the newest commissioner, it will be an opportunity to meet many constituents for the first time. He said in a press release that he is “looking forward to the ‘Conversations’ as another way to become attuned to the issues that are most important to our county residents.”

Six Conversation with Commissioners events are scheduled as follows:

• Pottstown: May 2, 7 p.m. at Montgomery County Community College’s South Hall Community Room, 101 College Drive

• Norristown: May 7, 10 a.m. at Norristown Farm Park’s Salt Wing, 2500 Upper Farm Road

• Pennsburg: May 12, 7 p.m. at Upper Perkiomen Education Center’s Multipurpose Room, 2229 East Buck Road
