Police: Man admitted abuse
Richard Reimers, 67, has allegedly admitted to repeatedly sexually assaulting a girl starting when she was 7 years old, investigators say
MONTGOMERY TWP. >> A 67-yearold Montgomery Township man has been arrested for allegedly sexually molesting a now-teenaged girl numerous times several years ago, starting when the victim was 7 years old, authorities said.
Richard Wayne Reimers, of the 100 block of Neshaminy Falls Circle, faces multiple felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault of a child, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and other felony and misdemeanor offenses in connection with the case.
Court documents filed in district court indicate that in June, the alleged victim told investigators during a forensic interview
that she had been sexually abused by Reimers approximately seven to eight years earlier when she stayed at his residence.
The girl stated that Reimers forced her to engage in various sex acts while watching pornography during 10 to 20 different “sessions”
that spanned more than a year, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Reimers allegedly encouraged the girl not to tell anyone about the “sessions” because “someone could get mad at her for participating” in them, the affidavit states.
In July, when questioned by investigators about the allegations, Reimers waived his rights and admitted to sexually assaulting
the child and to having her watch pornography on multiple occasions, according to court documents.
Reimers, who is currently incarcerated at county jail in lieu of $99,000 cash bail, has agreed to a stipulated preliminary hearing, sending all 30 criminal counts filed against him to trial in Montgomery County court. Formal arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 12.
