John Finley Ehinger, 92, passed away Sunday August 21, 2016 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Sallie (Alker) Ehinger to whom he was married to for over 64 years.

Born Oct. 30, 1923, in Norristown, he was the son of the late John C. and Margaret (Finley) Ehinger.

Mr. Ehinger served his country during World Wwar II as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He participat­ed in the Okinawa Campaign and the Third Fleet Operations against Japan.

He was a graduate of Drexel University. He worked in sales positions at a variety of companies prior to joining Merck, where he worked until he retired in 1993.

He was a member of the Worcester Volunteer Fire Department and a longtime Volunteer at Montgomery Hospital.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children John S. Ehinger, of Lansdale, Ralph A. Ehinger and his wife, Ellen of Lansdale, Robert F. Ehinger and his wife, Joanne of Downingtow­n, Anthony C. Ehinger and his wife, Deidre of Havertown, Harry A. Ehinger of Lansdale and twelve grandchild­ren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at the R. L. Williams Jr. Funeral Home Inc., Skippack Pike at Cedars Road, Skippack, where friends may greet the family from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday Aug. 26. Interment will be private for the family.
