Kansas survives another test from Baylor

Landen Lucas made two free throws with 11 seconds left and Kansas grabbed a strangleho­ld on the Big 12 race with a 67-65 win at Baylor.

The Jayhawks (24-3, 122) have a three-game lead in the Big 12 standings over Baylor with four games to play. With one more win, Kansas will match the UCLA teams of the 1960s and ‘70s by winning its 13th consecutiv­e conference championsh­ip.

Baylor (22-5, 9-5) had one more chance, but Manu Lecomte missed on a shot he took surrounded by defenders.

Frank Mason III had 23 points for the Jayhawks.

Johnathan Motley had 19 points for Baylor, which has lost four of its last six games. NO. 1 GONZAGA 82, PACIFIC 61 >> Nigel Williams-Goss had 18 points and seven assists as No. 1 Gonzaga beat Pacific 82-61 on Saturday to remain the only undefeated team in Division I.

Johnathan Williams had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and five players scored in double figures for Gonzaga (28-0, 16-0 West Coast), whose 28-game winning streak is the longest in the nation. NO. 7 OREGON 101, COLORADO 73 >> Dillon Brooks scored 23 points for Oregon.

Dylan Ennis added 20 points for the Ducks (24-4, 13-2 Pac-12), who won their 42nd straight home game. It is the longest active home winning streak in the nation. NO. 8 LOUISVILLE 94, VIRGINIA TECH 90 >> Donovan Mitchell scored 26 points to lead Louisville.

Ty Outlaw hit a 3-pointer with 8 seconds left to cut Louisville’s lead to 91-88, but the Hokies’ Zach LeDay committed an intentiona­l foul on Louisville as the Cardinals (22-5, 10-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) tried to inbound the ball. Jaylen Johnson made one of the two free throws, then Mitchell made two more with 5.6 seconds left to seal the offensive slugfest. NO. 9 WEST VIRGINIA 83, TEXAS TECH 74, 2 OT >> Jevon Carter scored a season-high 24 points to lead West Virginia.

West Virginia (21-6, 9-5 Big 12) let a late lead slip away and was forced to play overtime for the second straight game.

Carter scored a quick layup in the second overtime and West Virginia outscored Texas Tech 13-4 in the period.

Elijah Macon added a season-high 17 points for West Virginia. NO. 12 DUKE 99, WAKE FOREST 94>> Luke Kennard scored 23 points and Jayson Tatum added 19 for Duke.

Amile Jefferson had 16 points for the Blue Devils (22-5, 10-4 Atlantic Coast Conference), who shot 59 percent and hit 13 3-pointers while winning their seventh straight. NO. 13 KENTUCKY 82, GEORGIA 77>> De’Aaron Fox scored 16 points, including six free throws in the final 45 seconds, and No. 13 Kentucky overcame J.J. Frazier’s 36 points to beat Georgia 8277 on Saturday night.

Frazier’s season-high effort helped keep Georgia close after the Bulldogs lost top scorer Yante Maten with a right knee injury less than two minutes into the game.

Malik Monk also had 16 for Kentucky (22-5, 12-2 Southeaste­rn Conference). The Wildcats began the night tied with South Carolina for the SEC lead.

Kentucky was pushed to overtime in its 90-81 home win over Georgia on Jan. 31, and this game also was tight.

Kentucky trailed 73-71 when Bam Adebayo grabbed the rebound on a miss by Fox with 1:20 remaining. Fox then drove for a tying layup before Frazier answered with a layup to give the lead back Georgia.

With 44 seconds remaining, Fox made two free throws after Georgia forward Derek Ogbeide, whose importance inside only grew with Maten’s injury, was called for his fifth foul. NO. 15 FLORIDA 57, MISSISSIPP­I ST. 52 >> Chris Chiozza scored 14 points and KeVaughn Allen added 11 for Florida.

Florida (22-5, 12-2 Southeaste­rn Conference) extended its winning streak to eight games, which is the longest under second-year coach Mike White. The Gators also won their first game since starting center John Egbunu suffered a season-ending knee injury. NO. 16 PURDUE 80, MICHIGAN ST. 63 >> Caleb Swanigan had 24 points and 15 rebounds, and Isaac Haas scored 18 points for Purdue.

With the victory, the Boilermake­rs (22-5, 11-3) take a half-game lead over Maryland and Wisconsin in the Big Ten standings.

The double-double was Swanigan’s 23rd this season. He had 25 points and 17 rebounds on Jan. 24 when Purdue defeated Michigan State (16-11, 8-6) in East Lansing.

Senior Sheldon Jeter scored a career-high 29 points for Pittsburgh.

Jeter, who averages 7.6 points per game, had eight rebounds. Four of his 12 field goals were 3-pointers as the 6-foot-8 forward showed his range. NO. 18 CINCINNATI 80, TULSA 60>> Jacob Evans III scored 13 of his 17 points while Cincinnati took control in the first half.

Cincinnati (24-3, 13-1 American Athletic) has won 24 straight on its home court.

Kyle Washington added 18 points for Cincinnati while Gary Clark had 14 points and eight rebounds. NO. 19 SMU 76, HOUSTON 66 >> Semi Ojeleye had 18 of his 22 points in the second half and No. 19 SMU rallied to beat Houston 76-66 on Saturday.

Ojeleye also had nine rebounds, and the Mustangs have won ninth straight and 20 out of 21.

Ben Moore had 18 points and 13 rebounds, Sterling Brown had 16 points and Jarrey Foster added 10 points for SMU (24-4, 14-1 American), which shot 46 percent, including 56 percent in the second half. NO. 25 NOTRE DAME 81, N.C. STATE 72 >> V.J. Beachem scored 27 points and hit a career-high seven 3-pointers for Notre Dame in North Carolina State’s first game since the announceme­nt that coach Mark Gottfried is out after the season.

Bonzie Colson added 13 points for the Fighting Irish (21-7, 10-5 Atlantic Coast Conference), who kept themselves in the middle of a crowded race for a top-four finish that would secure a double-round bye in the ACC Tournament.
