Suspect accused of meth dealing
Paul Brown, 35, facing nine counts after police investigate his alleged drug activities
A 35-year-old Hatfield man with a lengthy rap sheet that includes drug-dealing convictions has been arrested for allegedly selling crystal meth in Lansdale, according to authorities.
Paul Justin Brown, of the 1300 block of Deer Run Road, was taken into custody and arraigned before Lansdale District Judge Edward Levine on two counts of felony possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, one count of felony criminal use of a cell phone, and three misdemeanor counts each of illegal drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In court documents filed in the case, officers from the Lansdale Police Department who are also members of the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Local Drug Task Force said they learned in late-February that Brown was allegedly selling bags of meth in Lansdale and surrounding areas for $50-$100 each.
In early March, police observed Brown engaged in a drug transaction in which methamphetamine that he sold was recovered; Brown also sold two grams of meth in exchange for $250 during an arranged buy on March 9, according to court documents.
Brown was arrested shortly after the latter transaction, and at that time was also found in possession of a bag of suspected heroin, an affidavit of probable cause indicates.
Brown is being held at Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash bail while awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 27.
Court records show Brown has been convicted numerous times in cases in multiple Pennsylvania counties dating back to 2000, including drug-dealing, DUI and identity theft offenses.
