Desus & Mero: (11 p.m. Monday-Thursday on Viceland) This is a four-night a week show hosted by Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, who offer their unique and funny perspectiv­e of the news and culture of the day. The two Bronx buddies sit in cushioned chairs in front of a stuffed bear with a Yankees hat and crack jokes, which also offer smart commentary about issues of race and politics. The show has a disclaimer saying that it doesn’t reflect the opinions of Viceland, so you know they don’t pull punches. Episodes also available at viceland.com.

Asylum: (Available Monday on Acorn TV) Miniseries is a satirical comedy about a government whistleblo­wer and a millionair­e internet entreprene­ur trapped together in the London embassy of a fictional Latin American country. Jack Taylor: (Available Monday on Acorn TV) Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont on “Game of Thrones,” Sir Richard Carlisle on “Downton Abbey”) returns as Irish private investigat­or Jack Taylor in three new TV movies. Pocahontas — Beyond the Myth: (8 p.m. Monday on Smithsonia­n) Documentar­y revisits the life of a legendary woman whose story continues to gain new resonance over time, even now on the 400-year anniversar­y of her death in March 1617. Rock and a Hard Place: (10 p.m. Monday on HBO). Inspired by Dwayne Johnson’s own experience­s with the law as a youth, the documentar­y follows young inmates at MiamiDade County Correction­s & Rehabilita­tion Boot Camp Program in search of a second chance. Dead Reckoning — War, Crime and Justice From WW2 to the War on Terror: (8 p.m. Tuesday on PBS) The three-hour series follows war crimes investigat­ors and prosecutor­s as they pursue some of the world’s most notorious war criminals — notably Adolf Eichmann, Saddam Hussein, Radovan Karadzic, Charles Taylor and Efraín Ríos Montt. Rebel: (9 p.m. Tuesday on BET) Drama series about a racially motivated police shooting is directed by John Singleton and stars Danielle Moné Truitt, Giancarlo Esposito, Mykelti Williamson, Method Man, and LaTanya Richardson. Nobodies: (10 p.m. Wednesday on TV Land) Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone are among the producers for this comedy from Groundling­s vets Hugh Davidson, Larry Dorf and Rachel Ramras, who play versions of themselves as they try to persuade their more famous friends to star in a movie they have written. The Amazing Race: (10 p.m. Thursday on CBS) Reality competitio­n returns at this new day and time. 13 Reasons Why: (Available Friday on Netflix) An adaptation of the book by Jay Asher about the suicide of a teenage girl, this 13-episode young adult drama series is directed (in part) by “Spotlight’s” Tom McCarthy, written by Pulitzer-winning playwright Brian Yorkey (“Next to Normal”), and produced by Selena Gomez. The Discovery: (Available Friday on Netflix) Jason Segel, Rooney Mara, Robert Redford, and Jesse Plemmons star in a Netflix original film set in a world where the afterlife has been proven to exist (and people are literally dying to get there). Charlie McDowell (“The One I Love”) directs.
