Lane restructio­ns set for Perkiomen, Skippack roads

PennDOT ha s a nnounced that lane restrictio­ns are scheduled next week on several roads in Montgomery County.

Route 29, Route 73, Plank Road and Meyers Road i n Perkiomen and Skippack townships will be restricted beginning next week for utility constructi­on.

Weather permitting, the work schedule is:

• Monday, April 3, through Friday, April 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Route 29 will be reduced to one lane between Miller Road and Harrison Road in Perkiomen Township, for utility relocation.

• Monday, April 3, through Friday, April 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Route 73 will be restricted to one lane between Squirrel Hill Road and Perkiomen Creek Road in Skippack Township, for excavation and utility relocation.

• Monday, April 3, through Friday, April 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 p.m., Plank Road will be restricted to one lane between Route 29 and Route 73 in Perkiomen Township, for utility relocation.

• Monday, April 3, through Friday, April 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Meyers Road will be reduced to one lane between Seitz Road and Miller Road in Perkiomen Township, for storm sewer installati­on.

During constructi­on, all traffic will be controlled by flagging.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the constructi­on areas because slowdowns may occur.

The work is part of PennDOT’s $11 million project to improve travel and safety at the intersecti­on of Route 29 at Plank Road/Otts Road; the intersecti­on of Route 73 at Plank Road; and the Meyers Road, Seitz Road and Township Line Road intersecti­on in Skippack, Perkiomen and Limerick townships.
