PENNRIDGE COMPETES AT

BOBCAT INVITE >> Corey Quaste racked up 78 assists and had nine digs and four blocks to help lead the Rams on Saturday at the Bobcat Invitation­al.

Pennridge took on elite competitio­n in pool play, falling 30-25 to Lower Dauphin, defeating Bishop Guilfoyle 30-23, then falling 3019 to Dallastown and 30-22 to Nazareth.

In the play-in round, the Rams edged Wilson 34-32 and then lost to Emmaus in three sets, 15-11, 12-15, 15-11.

In the Silver Bracket Playoffs, Pennridge defeated Red Land 25-21 and then fell to Fort LeBouf 25-14.

For the Rams, Cross Edwards had 33 kills and 32 digs; Josiah Friesen had 20 kills, 30 digs, seven blocks and three aces; and Zach Detweiler had 16 kills and 8 blocks.

Also contributi­ng were Mike Molettiere (17 kills), Matt McCreary (four kills/ seven blocks), Ethan Lionetti (18 digs), Harrison Zeitler (9 digs), Jeremy Pruss (9 digs), Danny Rutter (six digs) and James Sandt (three digs, two aces).

DOCK 3, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 0 >> The Pioneers won in convincing fashion by scores of 25-18, 26-24 and 25-21.

Ryan Class led Dock on the service line with 5 aces and added 4 kills and 7 digs to his effort for the night. Junior Jaden Hunsberger had 13 digs, Lincoln Bergey had 12 kills while junior setter Jeremy Yoder had 21 assists. Dock improved to 4-0 overall, 2-0 in league play.

Dock has three home League matches next week: Tuesday against league rival Avon Grove (7 PM), Thursday against Unionville (7 PM) and Friday against Lower Merion (3:45 p.m.). CB WEST 3, SOUDERTON 2 >> The Indians dropped a heartbreak­er Friday night 23-25, 19-25, 25-19, 25-16 and 16-14. Ben Campman led the way with 15 kills and 10 digs. Mike Pagan added 14 kills and 4 digs, while Luke Pagan had 35 assists. Aaron Moyer chipped in with 14 digs.

GREAT VALLEY 13, WISSAHICKO­N 8 >> Beginning with a slow start in the first half, the Trojans were down 8-2 at the half. Coming back strong, playing their game, and defensivel­y working together, Wissahicko­n fought hard and outplayed Great Valley in the second half. Unfortunat­ely, it wasn’t enough to win the game. Top scoring came from Emily Vervlied with five goals and one assist. Sam Intrieri added two goals and Carolyn Wilde had one goal. Lauren Donofrio had one assist. SPRING-FORD WINS OXENREIDER RELAYS >> The Rams took first in the 4x4, the 4x8 and the distance medley to finish atop the point standings.

Out in the field, Melissa Israel (9-6) and Madison Turosinski (9-0) combined to win the pole vault; Lily Nowakowski (15-8) and Samantha Watkin (14-10) took the long jump relay; and Brigitte Smith (99-2) and Samantha Basch (66-10) were winners in the discus.

For Spring-Ford, the 4x4 team of Sydney Galster, Lily Nowakowski, Emily Smith and Nandini Patel crossed in 4:21.71; the 4x8 foursome of Gabriella Bamford, Sydney Galster, Rachel Murphy and Nandini Patel won in 10:13.71; and the DMR squad of Gabriella Bamford, Jenna Darlington, Emily Smith and Julia Vledder were best in 13:16.20.

SOUDERTON EXCELS AT HAVERFORD >> Big Red had an outstandin­g day at the Haverford Invitation­al, with Connor McMenamin racing to second in the 3,200 and Jack Maurer pole vaulting to a second-place finish.

Also for the Indians, Terence Alfred was third in the 100 dash, qualifying for districts, and Stephen Scott was third in the 400, also qualifying for districts.

The Indians travel to Central Bucks East on Tuesday.

SPRING FOURTH AT OXENREIDER RELAYS >> The Rams’ 4x800 relay foursome of Jacob McKenna, Benjamin Pierce, Patrick Power and Zachary Smith raced to a first-place time of 8:26.89.
