The Warriors jumped out to a 7-1 lead that finished at 7-2 at the half. Kyle Kacala paced Methacton with four goals while Ryan O’Toole added three goals and one assist.

Boys Volleyball

HEMPFIELD 3, PENNRIDGE 0 >> The Rams fell 25-18, 25-9, 33-31 on Friday, with Cross Edwards providing nine kills and eight digs.

Josiah Friesen had an allaround game for Pennridge with 9 kills, 11 digs and two aces, with Kevin Jones adding six kills.

Zach Detweiler (four blocks), Mike Molettiere (four kills) and Corey Quaste (27 assists) also contribute­d for the Rams, with James Sandt adding six digs and two aces, and Ethan Lionetti racking up eight digs.

Pennridge falls to 2-3 on the season. We will host CB South on Monday evening.

SOUDERTON AREA 3, PENNRIDGE 1 >> Big Red was able to be consistent when it counted and prevailed 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23 Thursday night.

Souderton’s (4-1 SOL Continenta­l) best team effort of the year included 11 digs from Aaron Moyer, eight kills and three blocks from Mike Pagan, 20 assists and seven digs from Luke Pagan, five kills and 10 digs from Ben Campman, and three blocks from J.T. Karaban.

For the Rams (2-2 conference), Corey Quaste had 46 assists, Cross Edwards had 27 kills and 13 digs, Kevin Jones had seven kills, Zach Detweiler had six blocks and Ethan Lionetti had 20 digs.

DOCK 3, LOWER MERION 1 >> The Pioneers were short three starters due to a Touring Choir event but were able to fight through and come away with the win.

Dock, winning 25-14, 2516, 23-25, 25-12, improved its record to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in league play. Dock’s next match is Wednesday away at Neshaminy High School.

DOCK 3, UNIONVILLE 0 >> Dock played strong Thursday night, especially from the service line, and controlled the match from the start.

Leading the way was sophomore Connor Derstine, who served up four aces on 17 attempts. Derstine also added 13 digs to his effort. Junior Jaden Hunsberger was also strong in serving and defense with three aces and 20 digs. Also for Dock, junior Lincoln Bergey added a double double to the squad’s effort with 21 kills and 18 digs. Junior setter Jeremy Yoder led the offense with 27 assists.

SOUDERTON STRONG AT WHIPPET INVITE >> Big Red had many outstandin­g performanc­es at the Whippet Invitation­al Friday, with Terrence Alfred (200), Connor McMenamin (1,600) and Bret Vince (javelin) all earning first-place finishes.

Jared McDonough (javelin), Jared McDonough (shot put), Khaleef Blackwood (high jump) and Stephen Scott (110 hurdles) all pushed to second place for the Indians, and the 4x100 relay team of Chase Cole, Stephen Scott, David Gayle and Terrence Alfred raced to third, with Shane Day also jumping to third in the long.

The Indians will compete at The Rustin Invitation­al on Wednesday.

HILL 216, HUN 255 >> In difficult conditions, the boys braved the cold, wet and windy course at Brookside Country Club (nine holes) Friday and toughed out a victory.

Charlie Musto led the way with a one-over-par performanc­e. Drew Steinmetz also posted a fine score and team captain Stuart Fuller sat out the match due to injury.

The team will play an 18hole match play event Saturday against Brunswick School of Conn.
