Week of April 9 LIVING STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Sun., April 9: Sacred Heart Parish will host the annual Living Stations of the Cross on Palm Sunday, April 9th at 7 p.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson Street in Swedesburg, 19405. The cast of 30 will offer a dramatic presentati­on of Jesus’ last hours earth. The presentati­on of the Passion, Death and Resurrecti­on will take place. This is the 20th presentati­on that Pastor Timothy O’Sullivan has done and he welcomes everyone to attend this special presentati­on of Jesus Christ.

SOUNDS OF “JERSEY BOYS”

Mon., April 10: “Oh, What a Night” it will be at the Valley Forge VFW Post 7878 on Monday, April 10th from 6 to 9 PM, featuring the Sounds of “Jersey Boys”! A fun night of food, dancing and entertainm­ent, featuring Rob Carroll of the “Grease Band” and Ben Franklin impersonat­or fame. Songs from Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons will bring back fond memories of that great era. Rumor has it that “Sherry” and “Dawn” will appear. So “Let’s Hang On” and hang out with us to hear some great entertainm­ent. A savory meal will be served at 6 PM. A cash only bar with beer and drinks is available. SWEDESFORD GARDEN CLUB

Mon., April 10: The Swedesford Garden Club meets on April 10th at 6:45 p.m. at the North Wales Area Library, North Wales, PA. The program ‘Hydrangeas for Your Garden, will be presented by Master Gardener Susan Dolmaier. Join us to discover the secrets of growing these beautiful plants. Guests are welcome, no charge. Refreshmen­ts served.

JOB FAIR

Tues., April 11: Greater Norristown PAL will hold its Semi-Annual Job Fair that benefits the Greater Norristown Community residents. The Job Fair will be on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 340 Harding Boulevard. We are seeking employers and businesses that are currently looking to fill positions with local community members. Our goal is to connect community members and local businesses.

EASTER STORY TIME AND EGG HUNT

Thurs., April 13: Enjoy holiday stories, songs and activities, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt in the picture book area. For ages 2-5. Event begins at 10:30 a.m. At the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library, 1001 Powell St., Norristown.

BI-MONTHLY BINGO NIGHT

GOOD FRIDAY CANTATA

Friday, April 14: “Calvary’s Mountain” will be at 7 p.m. at Norriton Presbyteri­an Church 608 N. Trooper Rd. (corner of Germantown Pike and Trooper Rd.) Fairview Village. The Norriton Church Choir, local church choristers and ministers, and a chamber orchestra will all be featured. Free will offering, plenty of free parking.

DAVE FRIDAY MEMORIAL NIGHT

Sat., April 15: The annual event, with all proceeds going the scholarshi­p fund in honor of the Bishop Kenrick High School graduate, will be held at Screwballs Sports Bar and Grill, 216 W Beidler Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 with an open bar from 7 p.m. to 10. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. Just wear the green and gold of Kenrick.

KID’S MOVIE CLUB

Sat., April 15: The Centre Theater will launch the new Kid’s Movie Club on the first floor in a newly renovated space that holds 40 movie goers. On the third Saturday of every month beginning at 10:30 a.m. children of all ages are invited to the theater to see a special selection free of charge. All children must be accompanie­d by an adult. “Journey2: The Mysterious Island,” starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, will be the first movie on April 15. Doors will open at 10 a.m. and the movie will start promptly at 10:30 a.m. Journey2 is the sequel to the immensely popular “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” The Kid’s Movie Club is being made possible by a grant from the Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Council. Seating is limited so reservatio­ns are recommende­d. The Centre Theater is located at 208 DeKalb St. in Norristown. There is free parking on the street and a parking garage less than a hundred yards away from the theater. Movies are free and you can bring your own snacks. The first 50 families receive a free blanket.
