Barbara Grace Riddle of Lansdale

Barbara Grace Riddle, 43, of Lansdale, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017.

She was the beloved wife of Wade Riddle, her husband of 17 years.

Born Dec. 20, 1973, in Northeast Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Alan Robert Lukens V (MaryAnn) of Coatesville, and Mary Ann (Bodino) Redfield (Joseph) of Northeast Philadelphia.

Barbara was employed as a teaching assistant with Knapp Elementary School. She dedicated herself to the care and education of her autistic students and was beloved by her coworkers.

She graduated from Penn State University in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies.

Barb was a treasured friend to many and had many lifelong friends as well as a large network of baseball moms, Penn State alumni, co-workers and neighbors who loved her dearly. Her outgoing personality drew people to her wherever she went. She enjoyed exercise, yoga, reading, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She often said that she loved her life. Barbara was a sweet and gentle soul who brought love, laughter and joy to all who knew her.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her beloved son, Zachary, to whom she was a dedicated and loving mother; brother, David Lukens (Julie) of Denver, CO; niece, Sophia; nephew, Jackson; paternal grandmother, Grace Lukens of Newtown; and a large extended family including step-siblings, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Relatives and friends may call between 6 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. A second viewing will begin 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Christ United Methodist Church, 1020 S. Valley Forge Road, Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Barb’s memory to Last Chance Ranch, from where she adopted her beloved dog Rocky, 9 Beck Road, Quakertown, PA 18951.
